Soft In Science is a technology company building movement intelligence infrastructure. We develop tools that turn everyday video into structured, actionable performance data — making objective coaching and assessment accessible at scale.
We are in active development. Our first product is Vigour.
Privacy Policy
Soft In Science and its products collect video recordings submitted for analysis, performance metrics derived from those videos, and basic account information (name, email address, institutional affiliation). Learner and participant data is stored anonymously — using a pseudonymous identifier, age band, and gender only. No names or government identifiers are held without explicit consent and encryption at rest.
All data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Personal information, where collected with consent, is encrypted and held in a schema strictly separated from anonymous performance data. We comply with POPIA (South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act) and GDPR where applicable.
Where our products are used in settings that include minors, the institution or operator is responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from participants and/or their guardians before recording and submitting video for analysis. Our platform provides a consent audit trail to assist with this obligation. We do not process video unless the associated account has completed the required consent steps.
We do not sell personal data. Performance data is shared only with an institution's authorised users. Video footage is not shared beyond the processing pipeline and is subject to defined retention periods agreed with each institution.
Under POPIA and GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
Video recordings are retained for the duration agreed with each institution and deleted thereafter. Derived metrics are retained for as long as the account is active. Account data is deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
